GERMAN WW2 LUFTWAFFE PILOT QUALIFICATION Badge, TOMBAK Up for auction is a German WW2 PILOT'S QUALIFICATION BADGE (Flugzeugfьhrerabzeichen). The Pilot's Qualification badge was originally introduced in 1935 in order to award personnel of the DLV, Deutscher Luftsportsverband Fliegerschaft, (German Air Sports Association, Pilot Base). The DLV was the secret forerunner of the Luftwaffe, as the Treaty of Versailles in 1919 imposed strict limitations on German Airpower. In 1936 the badge was officially adopted by the Luftwaffe.
